About me
Hi, I’m Andy Dawson and I offer manual driving lessons in Market Rasen and the surrounding areas.
I moved to Brookenby with my wife, Anji, in May 2026. We absolutely loving in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds and enjoy exploring the beautiful scenery on our bikes and sampling all the local wares in the pubs and cafes. I am also the proud father of my two adult sons, Harry and Ollie.
I previously worked as a Detective Sergeant in the Police for 33 years so have many years experience working with people and being patient. I was a highly trained Police driver and I am passionate about utilising these skills as a driving instructor, teaching people how to drive safely.
Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents. (RoSPA) Gold – Advanced Driving Standard
I'm proud to have achieved the RoSPA Gold Award, the highest civilian driving standard in the UK.
This qualification demonstrates a level of driving skill, observation, and hazard awareness comparable to that of a police advanced driver. It reflects my commitment to delivering safe, smooth, and forward-thinking driving. It’s awarded only to drivers who demonstrate outstanding levels of control, planning, and safety - qualities I bring to every driving lesson to help my pupils become confident and responsible drivers for life
I’m currently enjoying training to become a fully approved Driving Instructor with LDC. I chose to work with LDC because everybody is different and the LD System allows for flexibility in lessons so that you learn to drive safely at a rate that suits you. I aim to make every lesson enjoyable and as productive as possible and the LD System helps me to do this more effectively.
Lessons are always conducted in a calm, friendly and relaxed manner as I firmly believe in making pupils feel at ease. My lessons are two hour lessons as this allows enough time to practice, discuss and practice again.
